N Vision 74 is inspired by both ‘Design & Heritage’and ‘Brand & Tech’.
Design & Heritage :
N Vision 74 pays an homage to the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept from 1974, which was developed by the legendary car designer Giorgetto Giugiaro. The concept was then built into prototypes for Hyundai’s first production sports car. Although it could not reach production in the end, the daring attitude set the tone for the entire company. 50 years later, we are exceeding the wildest dreams with imagination and courage.

The Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo was revealed at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor show with the launch of N brand. Meaning 'the vision of 2025', the name encapsulates that Hyundai will lead hydrogen technology into high performance. In just seven years, N Vision 74 experimented the driving and cooling performance of advanced FCEVs to realize the dream.

Inspired by Pony Coupe concept, N Vision 74 elevates Pony as Hyundai's timeless icon. Its design profile transcends time inspired from the past, while moving towards the future of high performance.
As N Vision 74 is the first high performance Rolling Lab built on the most advanced hydrogen fuel cell, the vehicle is designed to balance aerodynamics and cooling. With such functional aesthetics, the high performance technology is fully integrated into the design to fulfill the FCEV’s heat management requirements.
N Vision 74’s interior inherits the driver-centric and piston-shaped cockpit of the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept. It blends heritage elements, modern design, and functional motorsport seating to create a unique interior environment. Performance Blue details have been added to create an N-specific interior feel.

Start From Scratch
Starting with structuring a new layout to place the FCEV system, our Ngineers decided to kick off the project with RWD assisted with twin motors. Moreover, N Vision 74 tested a unique logic with e-TVTM (electronic Torque Vectoring by Twin Motors) to enhance cornering experience with 235kW motors on each rear wheel.
Finding Optimal Balance
N Vision 74 had a mission to find the optimal balance between cooling and performance to withstand its inevitably heavier weight. With the 3 channel cooling system, heat management of the PE system is enhanced. Meanwhile, motorsports-inspired details led to better aerodynamics with elements such as the end-shape of the side skirt and the rear spoiler.
Future Opportunity in Motorsports
N Vision 74 is capable of driving over 600km and if can be refueled up to 80% SOF in just 5 minutes. Fast refueling characteristic also opens up opportunities for the next generation of motorsports. The courage to pursue this mission and the ability to embrace imagination will open a new chapter of driving fun.

The Hyundai Pony Coupe Concept

Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign designed and constructed the Pony Coupe concept for a small company called ‘Hyundai’.

After its first public debut in 1974 Torino Motor show, Pony Coupe concept was brought back to Korea and was actively promoted to strengthen the Pony line-up.

To initiate production, reverse engineering took place at Ulsan plant.

Although it did not lead to mass production, N Vision 74 inherited the daring spirit of Pony Coupe concept as the first hydrogen hybrid Rolling Lab.
